A Brief History

In 1896 Lutheran immigrants from Germany and a number of Lutheran families from Wisconsin and other states settled in the territory around the community of Randall, Minnesota. It was in that same year that Mission Board of the Minnesota District, Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod, deemed it advisable to call and support a resident pastor for the area.

In 1900 the Lutheran congregation changed its name to read “St. Peter and Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Congregation of Randall in Morrison County, Minnesota.” When the congregation applied for legal incorporation 26 years later, it changed the name to read “St Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church of Randall”.

After worshiping in homes and the school for five years, the congregation, in 1901, spent the sum of $35.00 for the present property in the hopes of building a house of worship. In 1903 this dream became a reality. With some additions and improvements that building remained the congregations house of worship until 1968 when it was replaced by the present building.
